Twin arts of dance and sculpture…silent guide to generations …. Vriddhagiriswarar Temple, Vriddhachalam,India

Last week when I stepped into a  Hindu temple popularly known as Vriddhagiriswarar Temple, Vriddhachalam – in Tamil Nadu of India, I was awe-struck by the sculptures of the temple with dedicated themes on music and dance  .(Bharatanatyam – )

Enriching themes indeed provide silent inspiration to all concerned in arts, music and dance and Hindu way of life and belief systems and tradition.

I did not miss to note down at Vrddhagiriswarar temple at Vriddhachalam how Indian classical dance has influenced sculpture. You will also strike by the existence of musical pillars, rich art painting work and superfine sculptures and very rich history of Hindu religion and tradition at this very gigantic temple complex.

Currently renovation work is being undertaken by the authorities.
