Horse..worshiping ….Kalki Avathar….

Horse is god’s gift to mankind. A horse has been seen as beauty without vanity. Horses have been associated with human civilization since memorable times.

 Diverse Cultures across the globe revered horses. Horses are ubiquitous to all civilizations and ages as symbols of power in the pages of history and mythology.

 Horses have widespread foot prints in all aspects of human life style and culture. Whether it is  in legends,  mythology, folk lore, fortune telling,  books, films , Worship, warfare,magic,sculptures, symbol,status,agriculture,industry and transfer of technology and so on. The list is endless.

Undoubtedly,horses have been the unsung hero to bring vast transformation in human life style,culture,language,trade and commerce.Horses thus remained as noblest companion in all walks of our life.

I read and heard about worshiping of horses.Fortunately I had for the first time life opportunity to participate in a horse worshiping event organized for the well being of all across the globe in Bengaluru, India, on 14th July 2019.

I was briefed about the grammar for selecting a horse for worship. It was quite interesting to know that the body of the horse should be in black color with white colors on legs(up to knee level) and on forehead (up to mouth). I was told that very rare to get horses with such specifications in India.

Followed by horse worship, a homam was conducted by vedic scholars. A Homam ( a Sanskrit word that refers to a ritual, wherein an oblation or any religious offering is made into fire) styled as “Dasha(ten) Avathara homam” performed for ten avatars of Hindu god namely, Mathsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna and kalki (riding a white horse with a fiery sword)

It was indeed a thrilling experience to hear the homam chanting of prescribed verses by learned Vedic scholars for the prosperity and success of all.

On my way back I was recollecting the quote that”True love was born in a stable”.
