Taj Mahal –

“Should guilty seek asylum here,
Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin.
Should a sinner make his way to this mansion,
All his past sins are to be washed away.
The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;
And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.
In this world this edifice has been made;
To display thereby the creator’s glory”.

Emperor Shah Jahan

(Mahajan, Vidya Dhar (1970). Muslim Rule In India. p. 200.)

  1. It’s amazing- the shots and the poem. I have not seen tajmahal as an adult, as a child (till I was ten) we lived in Tundla, climbing on any thing higher than a few storeys made her visible to us in the horizon :)

    I want to spend a month or two in each of these two places – Agra and varanasi before I leave earth :)
